They hide during the day and
"attack" during the night. No, we are not talking about vampires. Their habitat
is not a cold coffin, it's actually warm, moist areas like sinks, hot water heaters and
kitchens, hiding in cracks and crevices to finally come out at night to feed themselves
with crumbs of food. We are talking about:
Cockroaches.
The most encountered and affective household insect pests in the United
States. Contaminating food, carrying disease and inducing allergies. They produce nasty
tasting odorous secretions from various points in their bodies affecting the flavor of our
food, specially when population of these pests are high.
Diseases.
Cockroaches transmit diseases which are forms
of gastroenteritis. These
symptoms and sickness include abdominal cramps, vomiting, food poisoning, nausea, diarrhea
and other illnesses. Cockroaches waste or excrement can start an allergic response in many
people. To individuals who suffer from asthma or other lung diseases, these allergies
could be very problematic.

There are important factors that we
should know about cockroaches, for example:
The German cockroach is present worldwide on a large amount due to their
reproduction number, with females having up to 40,000 descendants within one year.
Cockroaches may cause dermatitis, which is an inflammation of the skin. Roaches also spread
diseases such as urinary infections and dysentery, an inflammatory disorder of the lower intestinal tract.
This infection results in pain, fever and severe diarrhea often accompanied by the passage
of blood and mucus.
